In 1982 Chuck Clisso started photographing as a hobby and it quickly became a passion. Soon after he had several modeling and portrait assignments. Starting out as a fashion photographer for the John Casablanca’s Modeling Agency he has photographed over 1,500 portfolios. He has worked alongside some of the most creative Art Directors and Advertising Agencies in the U.S.

In 1984 Chuck started Image Productions Photography Studio and continued his work there until 1998 when he relocated to Southwest Virginia and started Clisso Photography. Clisso Photography currently has two studios, one located and Wise, VA and the other in Abingdon, VA.

For the last 11 years, Chuck has been a photography professor at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, teaching traditional darkroom photography, digital photography, Photoshop, hand-coloring of photographs, and hand-coated photography [Calliotype, Vandyke Brown and Cyanotype]. He also instructs lighting and Photoshop workshops at his studio in Wise, VA.

Over the years, Chuck has had the privilege of creating memories for over 800 weddings, numerous family and senior portraits. Personal service and one-on-one communication with the client at each of these events has allowed every project to be both enjoyable and productive for both him and the client.
